Juicing vs. blending

Blend your fruits, juice your vegetables. Vegetables are hard to digest so juicing makes sure you get the nutrient out of your vegetables this is because human simply can’t digest the rigorous material of plant cells. Blending will turn your fruits and vegetables into puree not necessarily into juice. Blending is basically eating food that has been pre chewed. While juicing is drinking the nutrition that has been squeezed out with the water content of the produce. All in all it is your choice, personally I can’t stomach blended produce much. Juicing is what I prefer. It is easy to gulp down, you will waste the fiber obviously but at least I don’t throw any of it away because I end up hating the taste or texture. But in the end of the day it is up to you. I definitely recommend eating food whole, juicing it plus also blending. You will simply get the benefits of all three means to get more fruits and veggies into your body.

 

 


Should I blend or should I juice?

The answer isn’t as simply as simply saying you should either blend of juice. There are various factors that come into play. Both the blender and the juicer will provide you with a quick and easy way to consume fresh fruits and vegetables. Blenders make a vortex by spinning at a high speed. In order to get this vortex you need to add liquids to  your blender. Because the blender uses high speed rotation it adds a lot of oxygen to your green smoothie. This will keep the smoothie from being able to be stored for very long. A cool thing to make in a blender is a blended salad. First add all the ingredients for you dressing blend it up. Then add your salad for example spinach or other leafy greens. A juicer runs at a lower speed than a blender does this will keep the juice from oxidizing as much as the blender does. The thing a juicer does is more or less copy or digestive trac. In that it does separate the liquid nutrition from the fiber. Helping our body by breaking it down with juicing the amount of energy that is expended to absorb the nutrition is a lot less. This will keep you from getting tired something that happens a lot when you consume a big meal. 


Greens smoothies vs. fresh juice

Both are great, anyway to get more greens, fruits & veggies in your body. In my opinion do both juice oxidizes when it is stored to long, when blending is you are adding oxygen because of the high speed. Make sure to consume your fresh juice or smoothie immediately so it doesn’t get a chance to lose its nutrient value. Make sure you have the top of the line produce. It is more about getting those unprocessed fruits & veggies in your body rather than in what way. Honestly how is up to you. I like juicing & salads more than blending. That doesn’t mean I never blend just not as often. I have a hard time stomaching all the chunks that come with blending. There is no point in blending something you are not going to eat, because you can’t handle the taste or texture. The best thing to do is to do all three. Eat your fruit & veggies whole & raw in meals of salads. Drink them in greens smoothies that you have blended up & drink them through fresh juiced juice. So you get the benefits of all of them. The problem in this however is cost you will need to own both a blender & a juicer. Best of you check out some friends that have both if you don’t own either. So you can compare smoothies vs. juices. To decide which you like most. You could also make certain recipes for your blender & other recipes for you juicer. So you make the simple easy to stomach recipes in your blender. Than in the juicer you go for the more experimental recipes that have some very nutrient dense greens in there. So it will be easier to stomach because there is not that much fiber in there. Fresh & raw veggies and fruits rule so if you added these in your diet you have already won. Through juicing & blending you are able to make it easier for yourself to consume them. Why not? If we have the technology & intelligence seems like a waste to eat every single meal whole. If you have to eat all of your fruits & veggies whole that is going to be a huge time sink. Which inclines you to abandon eating that much fruits and veggies all together. For most people that are seeking health motivation is a very key problem. Keeping on top of your motivation by making it easy on your self is the key to sustain a healthy lifestyle & keep yourself from falling back into old habits.



Why you should juice

Eating nature’s food not processed foods. Juicing is an easy way to add fresh fruits & vegetables to your diet. It is easier that eating the foods whole, it is a very good way to detoxify the body. Juicing is the best source of filtered water. Fruits vegetables trees & plants have already filtered the water for you. Why does juicing provide you with more energy than for example an apple? Digestion when you eats a big meal it needs energy to focus on your digestion, when you juice you separate the juice from the fiber. The body can only absorb nutrients in a liquid state through the villi in the intestines. If you look at it, the body is kind of a big juicer. You put In nutritious foods in that have high water contents out of your body comes excrements without much liquid & nutrients. Not all juices you buy in the super market are made from concentrates, high fructose corn syrup of have added amounts of sugar.

Blend your fruits and blend your vegetables. Food is only digested when it is in a liquid state this is why juicing is so powerful. Juicing separates the nutrition from the hard en fibrous exterior. Since we humans are not designed like cows. We should use our intelligence to make it easier for our body to process & digest our food.

 

 



Making coconut milk

Open the coconut by pop two of the holes of the coconut, you want to make sure the coconut water is perfectly clear when you pour it out. If it is not throw it out. Now crack open the coconut buy hitting it with the backside of a chef’s knife while rotating it. Next of extract the meat of the coconut. Now add the coconut water and the coconut meat together in your blender. Coconuts are rich in lauric acid. It is shown to be anti-viral it is one of the best super fruits. After blending add the blended mixture into your juicer. I recommend a vertical masticating style juicer. You will see that get the best and most fresh coconut milk you could get. The pulp is basically coconut flakes which can be used to make raw breads.



Peanut butter

The best thing about making nut butter is the fact that you are in control. Wild jungle peanuts are a cool ingredient to use. If you use nuts with a low oil content that are not roasted you will have to use a little oil. Nuts with a low oil content will tend to make nut flour/meal and not butter because it will not stick together. You can pour it back in again, if you repeat this process sooner or later it will stick together. You can drizzle in some extra oil if you want to. If you want to make nut butter a lot you will want to buy a omega 8006. I don’t recommend the VRT for making nut butters it will simply be a pain in the ass to clean.



Where to buy produce

Buy organic produce, if you cant buy organic then buy conventional produce.

 

 

Buy in big bulk this will be a lot cheaper, you produce should be fresh and firm. Not wilted and folded over or soft. Turmeric is a very nice addition to your juicer, cilantro & parsley. Bak choi. When juicing fruits use hard fruits. The granny smith is one of the best apples to juice because of its texture. Always pick the darker fruit.

 

 

Small berries are not suitable for juicing. They simply won’t be worth the money as the amount of juice you will get out of the berries is very small.

 

 

Check your local farmers market or grow your own produce to ensure high quality.

 

 

Is it cheaper to make your own juice or buy canned or bottled juice. A single pineapple will net you about 33oz of juice with the omega VRT.

 

 

Omega VRT is probably the best juicer for fruit. Shop smart don’t buy produce at Walmart go to the farmers market.

 

 



Omega 8004 vs. omega VRT330             


Even though they are made by the same company, the warranty on the omega 8006 is 15 years, the warranty on the omega vrt330 is 10 years.

 

 

The feed  chute of the vrt330 is about twice as large as the one on the omega 8006, this determins how fast you can operate the juicer without is clogging. The auger on the vrt330 is also considerably bigger than the one in the omega 8006. Omega 8006 is not just a juicer but also a nutrition center. You can grind coffee, extrude pasta, turn nuts into flour or butter. Whereas the omega vrt330 is just designed to juice. The omega vrt330 is considerably better at juicing fruits than the omega 8006 is at juicing. The vertical style also makes is considerably faster. If you want to make a mono juice out of greens the omega 8006 is better than the vrt, the vrt however is better when juicing fruits & combinations of fruits & hard veggies combined with greens. Carrots for example are a nightmare in the omega 8006 the vrt handles them like a champ. When juicing use about 30% leafy greens, the other 70% should be base(celery, carrots, cucumbers). For the average person I would recommend the omega VRT it is far more forgiving than the other juicers are.

 

 

The omega 8006 is not only a juicer, but a nutrition center. I will talk a bit about these features for a bit instead of its juice capabilities. The omega 8006 comes with two different screens. One is the juicing screen this is the one with holes in it. The blank plate is solid and has not holes. This is the screen you need to use to make nutbutter. In order to make nutbutter you will want to use roasted nuts or one with very high oil contents. This will make sure the nut stick together nicely. To get a more creamy texture run the nuts through multiple times. I recommend peanut, cashews and macadamias. It is also possible to grind coffee in omega 8006. Another fun thing is run dates through the juicer, without the pit of course. You will end up with a nice date paste. Stick some nuts on there and you will have a nice candy bar. Last but not least is frozen fruits sorbet. You can use frozen bananas, strawberries, pineapple or cantaloupe. Run the fruit through multiple times to get the texture you desire. Ice-cream made out of fresh raw fruits, without any of the additives. What more could you want a super angel 5500 ?.

When you feel sick when eating juice you should see a doctor of medical professional  that is able to diagnose you. The main reason however is that you probably are not used to juicing and the produce you are eating. Since this is something new you might take into account that the produce you used is something you are particularly sensitive too.

 

 

Make sure you are well hydrated before and after drinking juices. The body is made out of mostly water so make sure you are while hydrated.

 

 

Whenever you are juicing dilute it with water, so the juice is not as strong the cleansing effect won’t be as strong this way.

 

 

Make sure to drink the juice slow, don’t gulp it down in one go. This might entertain a reflex of your stomach

 

 

Make juice recipes that are mild, only 25% of the juice should be greens/wheatgrass/beets these are very potent and will have a strong effect.

 

 

Make sure your juice taste good, this is very important when you are just beginning. Start Slow with a sweet base with something like apples and a lemon, than add one or two leaves of a leafy green. Start adding more green in time, never adding more than 25% though. So be careful of greens when you are new to juicing.

 

 

The Quality of you produce is very important. Conventional produce might sprayed with loads of chemicals that might cause an nauseating effect in your body. Make sure if you can afford it to buy organic produce or growing your own.
